Here’s a quick guide to Texas Hold'em:

1. Game ObjectiveUse your two hole cards and the five community cards to create the best possible five-card hand and win the pot (the total chips bet by players).

2. Game Flow

Deal Hole Cards:

Each player receives two private cards (visible only to them).

Betting Rounds:

Pre-flop: First round of betting after receiving hole cards.

Flop: Three community cards are revealed, followed by a second betting round.

Turn: A fourth community card is revealed, followed by a third betting round.

River: The fifth and final community card is revealed, followed by the last betting round.

Showdown:

If multiple players remain, they reveal their hands. The strongest five-card hand wins the pot.

3. Hand RankingsFrom strongest to weakest:

Royal Flush (A-K-Q-J-10 of the same suit)

Straight Flush (Five consecutive cards of the same suit)

Four of a Kind (Four cards of the same rank)

Full House (Three of a kind + a pair)

Flush (Five cards of the same suit, not in sequence)

Straight (Five consecutive cards, mixed suits)

Two Pair

One Pair

High Card (No matching cards; highest card wins).

4. Key Terms

Hole Cards: Your two private cards.

Community Cards: Five shared cards on the table.

Pot: Total chips bet by players.

Blinds: Forced bets by the two players to the left of the dealer (Small Blind and Big Blind).

Call: Match the current bet.

Raise: Increase the bet amount.

Fold: Surrender your hand and exit the round.

Check: Pass the action to the next player without betting (only possible if no bet has been made).

5. Example

Your hole cards: A♠ K♠.

Flop reveals Q♠ J♠ 10♠ – you have a Straight Flush (A-K-Q-J-10 of spades).

Turn and River cards: 2♦ 3♥.

Opponent shows Q♥ Q♦ (Three of a Kind).

Your Straight Flush wins the pot!
